Donnersdorf (Germany), 08.09.2022. The IMD-3101 is already inspiring the technology industry a short time after the product launch. Once again, the motion detector qualified for the final of a renowned competition for innovative technology solutions, the IDEA Awards of the specialist media Electronic Design, Machine Design and Power & Motion. From August 15th to September 16th, industry experts are now invited to vote online to decide the outcome of the award ceremony.
Detection area optimized for application
With its narrow aperture angle, the IMD-3101 is clearly set apart from the typically wide-angled motion sensors. InnoSenT developed the radar system specifically for automatic light control in the aisles of high-bay warehouses. The detection area optimized for this with an opening angle of 15° in azimuth and 114° in elevation fits perfectly into the narrow and long corridors in high-bay warehouses and reliably detects movements there. This reduces false detections and increases the efficiency of the application.
The 24 GHz FSK radar detects speed, direction of movement and distance from moving people and other objects such as Forklifts. In addition, the product has various configuration options that enable more precise adaptation to the application. Thanks to the included signal processing, the radar system can be integrated into an application and used as a trigger for automatic light control in just a few steps. IDEA AWARDS
The "Industrial Design, Engineering & Automation (IDEA) Awards" competition recognizes innovative products for the manufacturing industry that make the work of engineers easier, faster and more efficient. With their optimized design and function, the new products help to save costs and energy or increase productivity, for example. This year, a wide variety of technical solutions compete against each other in 7 categories. A total of 35 products qualified for the final. Three of the nominees in each category receive one of the coveted awards in gold, silver or bronze. The competition is presented by the media Machine Design, Electronic Design and Power & Motion in 2022 for the second time in a row.
